Woodhall Spa St Andrew’s C.E. Primary School,

School Administrator – Temporary post - Maternity Cover

Annual Salary:               £19,171 - £20,344 pa full time equivalent

Full time post :              37 hours per week – term time only.  Equating to a starting salary of approx: £15,908 pa.  The post will cease at the end of maternity leave for the existing member of staff.  Part-time applications will also be considered.

Working Pattern during term time: 8am until 4.30pm four days a week and one day a week 8am until 1pm.

St Andrew’s C.E. Primary School is seeking to appoint a reliable and enthusiastic School Administrator to join our friendly staff team.

This is a key role that would suit somebody with excellent organisation, communication and IT skills. You must be able to work both independently and as part of a team, using initiative and being proactive in dealing with tasks and queries within a busy environment.  You will need to have the ability to prioritise, multi-task, meet deadlines and liaise effectively with pupils, staff, parents and contractors. Prior experience of working within a School Office is desirable.

While not exhaustive, the main duties will include:

·       School reception duties, answering routine telephone calls, distributing messages via telephone and email, as well as dealing with face to face enquiries and visitors.

·       Assist staff with welfare duties, organising pupil collection arrangements and ensuring medicines policy is followed.

·       Maintain and update data records and electronic school management information and communication systems.

·       Compile, maintain and analyse class registers and ensure pupil and staff absences are recorded appropriately.

·       Maintain and update the parent’s booking system, operate the till, handle and record cash received.

·       Distribute funding application forms for parents, checking eligibility as appropriate and updating information systems.

Candidates should be professional, understanding issues of confidentiality and the need to protect the welfare of children.
