We require an excellent classroom practitioner to join our dedicated team of teaching staff from September 2019.

The position will be in our EYFS/Year 1 class. The role is a job share with a senior leader and although the working pattern will be set at the start of the academic year there may be opportunity to provide additional cover by mutual agreement. We are fortunate to have an innovative and supportive staff who are committed to enhancing the learning and progress of our children. Whaplode Church of England Primary School

TEACHING ASSISTANT LEVEL 1

Would you like to be part of a team who aim to inspire and encourage our children to believe in their ability to succeed through learning?

Whaplode Church of England Primary School is seeking to appoint a Level 1 Teaching Assistant to start on Monday, 2nd September 2019.  The post holder will be required to work 15 hours per week as a Teaching Assistant during term time only.  The appointment would be considered permanent, subject to the relevant probationary periods.

The school is part of the Lincoln Anglican Academy Trust (LAAT); therefore, the role would be as an employee of the LAAT.  There is the potential that, through agreement with the CEO and / or LAAT Board of Directors, you may have the opportunity to work in an alternative place of employment deemed reasonable within the Trust.

The salary would be reflective of the role at Scale Point 11 (£15,839 FTE) and the number of weeks worked per year would be 39.

We are seeking candidates who:

Have high expectations of children’s achievement and behaviour.

Have a high level of attention to detail.
Can remain focused in a busy environment.
Will be able to work as part of a team to achieve the very best for our children.

Main Responsibilities:

·         Work with individuals or small groups of pupils under the direct supervision of teaching staff and provide feedback to the teacher

·         Support pupils to understand instructions and support independent learning and inclusion of all pupils

·         Support the teacher in behaviour management and keeping pupils on task

·         Support pupils in social and emotional well-being, reporting problems to the teacher as appropriate

·         Prepare and clear up learning environment and resources, including photocopying, filing and the display and presentation of pupils work and contribute to maintaining a safe environment.

Teaching Assistants in this role may also undertake some, or all of the following:

·         Record basic pupil data

·         Support children’s learning through play

·         Assist with break-time supervision including facilitating games and activities

·         Assist with escorting pupils on educational visits

·         Support pupils in using basic ICT

·         Invigilate exams and tests

·         Assist pupils with eating, dressing and hygiene, as required, whilst encouraging independence.
