Professional Development

Lincoln Diocesan Board of Education offers a wide variety of training and support to enable you feel confident and well equipped to work in a church school.  We offer training around the topics of:

  • Vision
  • SIAMS
  • Governance
  • School Improvement
  • Collective Worship
  • Religious Education
  • Wellbeing
  • Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

As part of our Professional Development Programme we run training centrally either at our offices or online. These courses are designed for individuals or small groups from your school to attend, alongside other schools in the Church school family.  All our central courses and events can be found on our calendar - see link below.  This is updated regularly to meet the needs of schools in the face of the changing landscape of education.  If there are any other courses you would like to see us run either centrally, at your school or in your area please email lynsey.norris@lincoln.anglican.org

We also offer bespoke training and consultation provided by our DBE, specialist and associate advisors.  For more information, see your Service Level Agreement Booklet, MAT Partnership Agreement Booklet or contact us.

Effective Professional Development

As part of our Professional Development programme we are using the research conducted by the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF). Our courses, audits, reviews and school improvement partner service are designed to include the elements that the EEF found to produce an effective Professional Development programme.

  • Building knowledge
  • Motivating teachers
  • Developing teacher techniques and
  • Embedding practice.

It has been suggested that a programme that features a mechanism from each of these areas represents a 'balanced design'.
