Appointing a New Headteacher to a Church School
The appointment of Headteacher in a Church school is one of the most important decision-making processes that a Governing Body will be required to undertake.
*** Please contact us before you start this process ***
The Diocesan Education team will provide guidance and first-hand support to the Governing Body.
Schools and academies in the Diocesan Service Level Agreement will receive a comprehensive package of support throughout the whole process. This includes explaining the process to the full governing body, working with the selection panel to develop the advert and application pack, supporting the shortlisting process, preparing for and attending the interview day, and other post-interview support.
Schools not in the SLA will be supported at the initial meeting with the full governing body and during the interview day.
